McNair Fall Carnival
In order for the Fall carnival to be successful a lot of preliminary work had to be done. I had to help paint, drill, and set-up the booths for the Fall carnival. We had a bake sale to raise money,  had to find sponsers, and did a community clean-up.  The day of, I also painted card board cut-outs for the photo booth. I even helped by selling Chick-fil-A Calendars and chicken sandwhiches.

Chick-fil-A Big Thank You!!!
In Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy we have numerous impact projects. One of these projects were when we thanked admirable people  with a card and coupon for a free Chick-fil-A sandwhich! Mr. Durham and Mr. Hadgu were very pleased and appreciated our gratitude for all their hard work.

Chick-fil-a Classroom Kickoff
During this activity, my peers and I helped pack meals to feed 1 million people. We also got to know each other and more about what Chick-fil-a Leadership Academy is all about! We made an assembly line to package the food at a faster rate with the help of a Chick-fil-a  manager, Tomeka. I enjoyed all of it and look forward to more activties!

About

Now that I am the Marketing Director of both The McNair High Travel Club and National Honor Society, I've started doing a variety of Impact Projects in and around my school. I've done a lot of community service activities, volunteering, fundraising, and had fun doing so! With all of these different ventures I've taken, I learned people need help, but they also need to take the matter into their own hands. With that I made it my mission to help others help themselves.

Domestic Violence Month
In the month of February, McNair high had lots of events to make their students aware of domestic violence. I got to work with others to present a prezi, to different classes around the school, that showed statistics of domestic violence and ways you could help prevent it from happening to oneself or others. We also partnered with students and teachers and discussed how domestic violence played a role in our lives. After our discussion some of us went to a vigil, where we heard stories from survivors and loved ones, watched a college choir group perform, and lit a candle for those lost to domestic violence.

Cleaning the community
Some of my clubs teamed up with the wrestling time to clean up the school and the street along side my school. At the end of the day we collected about 20 bags of trash. It was pretty tiring, but knowing it was for our school and community was a kind reminder of all I've started to accomplished.

Project 6: My 1st Trip Out Of The Country

PROJECT ONE

PROJECT TWO

PROJECT THREE

PROJECT FOUR

PROJECT FIVE

My trip to guatemala was amazing. It was my first trip out of the country and on a plane. I got to meet a lot of wonderful people and help with a modest community that showed my crew members and I what little resources they survived off of. During this trip I helped build a bottle school, where we had to mix cement, fill up bottle with trash, and tie the trash filled bottles to chicken wire. The trip was very motivational and just plain amazing.

Above is a slideshow of pictures taken of my crew and I as we shared ourselves with the community. Below is a nutshell of my thoughts through out the seven days in Guatemala.
